Two More Shadaloo Overlords Unveiled

Fan favorites, M. Bison and Sagat, were officially unveiled yesterday by Capcom themselves through their blog and Flickr account. Enjoy!

Balrog and Vega Unveiled

Japanese publication, Famitsu's, website has unveiled a few familiar faces for the Street Fighter IV roster. While most of us have known about Balrog for a few months since the leaked play test video, it's a real pleasure to see Vega's... mask. I like the little smear of blood in the art to accentuate his sadistic, bloodthirsty nature. These aren't all of the pics, there are more spread out on the web of actual gameplay involving both characters. Enjoy!

The Lovely Leah

It's been a while since I'd done a feature like this and I felt it was only fair for the gentlemen. Say hello to the lovely Leah Dizon. Born of Chinese, Filipino and French ancestry in 1986, Leah grew to become one of the most desirable women in Japan. She's only recently begun to make a larger mark here in the states, but her popularity is growing as swiftly and every man whose laid his eyes upon her. Enjoy!

New Dark Knight Trailer Leaked... Not Suprised.

As much as I am looking forward to seeing Indy again after so long, I'm afraid the The Dark Knight has a huge chance of stomping it at the US box office. Hey, that's A-OK with me! We get to see a bit more of Heath Ledger's Joker and finally get to see Aaron Eckhart playing Harvey Dent in the following trailer. I still have the question of how they're going to carry on the sequels without Heath. Everybody knows that Two-Face is being set up to be the next villain, but a while before Heath passed away, director Christopher Nolan was already talking about keeping The Joker around for a while. Too bad. As smart a filmmaker as he is, I'm sure he'll figure something out. In the meantime, let's continue to enjoy the great viral marketing for the film and the new bootleg footage of the next trailer, which will be released officially this Sunday. Enjoy!

Indy is Still Whippin' Ass and Takin' Names!

Earlier this week, the 2nd TV spot for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was released. I was very, excited about this film from even hearing about it's conception. But, I was wondering if Spielberg, Harrison and crew could still pull of the old charm that every Indiana Jones film as far as mixing humor with a badass action-adventure. This little TV Spot, with what few new things it shows, has washed away my fears. Enjoy!

Next "Prince of Persia" Screenshots Unveiled

Today, Ubisoft unveiled the first screenshots from the next installment of their Prince of Persia franchise after making their official statement for the game earlier this week. The Prince looks quite interesting this time around. He seems more beast-like; take notice of the claws. Word has it that our new hero will use them for climbing structures in the game. Also, in case you're wondering, this is not concept art, these are actual in-game screenshots. This installment of the series is going to take the cel-shaded approach. I like the look of it, it'll be interesting to see what the next-gen consoles can do with cel-shading. The Prince is also reported to have a female companion ala Ico's Yorda, only not as helpless. The name for the game that has been circulating the web is "Prince of Persia: Ghosts of the Past/Prodigy". We'll have to wait a little while longer for the official name from Ubisoft. Expect to hear and see more of the next "Prince of Persia" at this year's E3. The game is currently scheduled to be released at and undisclosed date later this year. In the meantime, you can check the website out at:

Dragon Ball Movie Japanese Teaser Poster

Alright! Finally, we have something that's actually completely official to actually see regarding the upcoming Dragon Ball movie. This is the official Japanese teaser poster, sporting the four-star dragon ball on its cover. For those who haven't read the news, Dragon Ball, while filmed in Mexico and with a mostly American cast will be released in Japan first and rightfully so. Expect Dragon Ball to hit Japanese and American theaters in March and April of next year, in that order.

New Dragon Ball Anime Coming!!

Shueisha's weekly manga magazine, Weekly Shonen Jump has announced it's upcoming Jump Super Anime Tour. The tour will cover ten cities across Japan while featuring various new anime specials in each one. One of those amongst them will be a brand new Dragon Ball special. The special will either be in the form of a remake of a fight from the old series or an entirely original episode. It also has yet to be confirmed whether the special will cover Son Gokou's childhood or adult adventures. Also, amongst the specials to be shown is One Piece. A third special has yet to be announced as it is being kept behind closed doors for the time being. My money is on it being either Naruto or Bleach-related. You can look for news from the Jump Super Anime Tour to arise when it commences this fall.

"I'd rather be fired than mess up Piccolo."

James Marsters is the man! His enthusiasm for acting and his ability to just flat out say "No" to Hollywood when it matters makes me really have respect for the guy. Here he talks about the changes the producers wanted to make to the character of Piccolo for the upcoming Dragon Ball movie. Watch the video to find out the turnout. His son and him are big fans and used to watch it together all the time, so he understands what the fans would want to see.

Metroid Movie to be Announced Soon?

Hopefully there's some truth to the image below this post. It has some elements that make it look real, but anybody who's good with Photoshop can cook up anything just as good if not better. They've been talking about this movie for years now with John Woo directing. I think about "Hard-Boiled" and "Face-Off" and imagine just how great a project this could be for Mr. Woo. The action would be beautifully insane and that story would be just solid enough to keep you interested. Word is out that the picture was a candid snapshot for a poster to be set up at the Comic-Con next week in New York. John Woo is apparently supposed to make a surprise appearance and announce that he'll be taking on this project after he's done with his upcoming film "Red Cliff". I highly doubt any of this is true though, which is why I am actually a little ashamed to be posting this. But, if there does happen to be truth to this, I'm sure many of us will be very happy. But, May 9th of next year? C'mon now...Also, just for kicks and as kind of an apology for this post, here's the closest Nintendo has gotten to a live-action Metroid in the past.

New Dragon Ball Set Photos

You get to see what Emmy's Bulma's hair really looks like. At least it has a blue highlight. Sheesh... Jamie is looking mighty fine, but I'm pretty sure that's all she's gonna do in this movie. And Justin Chatwin still doesn't look like Goku. I'm still rooting for him though since he's playing one of my childhood heroes and hope he does the part justice. But, damn it if Goku doesn't go to school... I know it's not his fault though. C'est La Vie. Also, apparently Goku will die at either the very end of this one or the sequel at the hands of a new enemy. Check out the pictures below in the meantime. Enjoy!

Channing Tatum as Duke Unveiled

A few promo shots were recently leaked onto the net for the upcoming live-action GI Joe film. Amongst them was actor Channing Tatum as 1SG Conrad S. Hauser, code name: "Duke". He looks cool, but it looks like they were going more for the GI Joe Sigma 6 look. He even has the scar. But, still, Duke is Duke. As long as he's got the boy scout characteristics and is still tough as nails, it's all good with me. Not digging the goatee though. But, I sure do miss the old look.

Ed Boon Interview

GameSpot sits down with Ed Boon, one of the original creators of the Mortal Kombat franchise, to discuss why he believes the fights in Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe are possible.

New "Battletoads" for the Wii!

Oh man, talk about bringing back memories. It seems that Rare is going to be reviving one of the franchises that helped make them a star in the video game community. The Battletoads: Zitz, Rash and Pimple are back! The game has apparently been in development for a while, but they just recently decided to unveil it. So far, it appears that will be released this May 10th exclusively for the Nintendo Wii. While there are tons of Battletoads fans out there, I'm not sure if they'll drop the cash to get a Wii just for this one game, when there is nearly nothing else aside from a few 1st-party titles worth buying a Wii for. However, from the single render of Pimple we've been shown, it does appear to be pushing the Wii's power. I'm not so sure about everything else though and May is nearly here already. But, Rare has been known to surprise, for better or worse. For the time being, enjoy the official and ridiculously cheesy (as in late-night male enhancement commercial cheesy) trailer below. There is also a website available for viewing at:

MORTAL KOMBAT Vs. DC!?

Word is that the guys over at Midway and DC Comics have decided to align or clash together to make the next installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise one of the most interesting. This is just what happened with Marvel and the Street Fighter series, later the entire Capcom library, years ago. Look at where that ended up. Capcom's "Vs." series is still touted as one of the greatest series of fighting games ever released. Let's hope the same happens with MORTAL KOMBAT Vs. DC. Midway was last reported to be completely revamping the fighting system and fatalities have been removed from the game. That part kind of sucks. Scratch that; really sucks. I'm hoping they change that. It's not Mortal Kombat without fatalities. Apparently DC doesn't want to see their characters mutilated. Um... "Crisis on Infinite Earths" anyone? You can now check out the upcoming game's website at:

Also, enjoy the recently unveiled teaser trailer below. Enjoy!

Dragon Ball Z Burst Limit: Trunks Vs. Freeza

I came across this little video a few moments ago and figured I'd share it with any fellow DBZ fans out there. Looks like we'll be able to play the Trunks that goes back to the future to avenge the future Gohan's death. He had spikier hair when he went Super Saiyan and wore the black muscle shirt without the sword. Confusing? Yeah, Dragon Ball Z always was...

Grand Theft Childhood

Join X-Play's Adam Sessler as he interviews Harvard professors Dr. Cheryl Olson and Dr. Lawrence Kutner on the subject of video game violence's effect on children. The children who don't play video games are at greater risk of violent behavior than those who do play video games. This is a fascinating discussion. Dr. Olson and Dr. Lawrence also recently co-authored their book, Grand Theft Childhood, together. Enjoy!

WALL•E Featurette & Director Interview

Pixar's Andrew Stanton, director of Finding Nemo and the upcoming masterpiece WALL•E, takes a few minutes to explain the story and setting behind the curious little robot looking for love.

M. Night Shyamalan's Avatar: The Last Airbender

Back in 2006, James Cameron and M. Night were in a little dispute over the rights to the title to each of their movies. Being mature about the situation, M. Night chose to simply call his film "The Last Airbender", while Cameron gets to keep the original name for his upcoming film, "Avatar". M. Night's "Avatar" is in fact based on the popular anime-inspired Nickelodeon cartoon. Shyamalan comments that this is his chance to do a live-action version of a Hayao Miyazaki film. While Miyazaki has nothing to do with Avatar: The Last Airbender, aside from influencing the look and feel of the atmosphere, it gives you and idea of his intentions for the adaptation. He is promising to combine the epic feel of the "Lord of the Rings" films with the mysticism and intrigue of "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". He also plans to shoot three films for the story back-to-back ala Peter Jackson with LOTR. Paramount Pictures will be producing the film, which is set to be released July 2nd, 2010. I'm looking forward to it. I have yet to see an M. Night Shyamalan film that I didn't like. Yes, that includes "The Village" and "Lady in the Water". And if you liked the Transformers movie, you have no room to talk.

GI Joe's Scarlett is Unveiled

Hmmm. Well, they got Rachel Nichols looking pretty damn good right here. I wasn't sure if she could pull off the look for Scarlett, but seeing her in the body armor makes me think otherwise. My thing was always for Lady Jaye. That girl had it goin' on. Too bad she won't be in this one. They better do her right. Her and Snake Eyes got a little somethin'-somethin' for each other. Maybe we'll see that part of the GI Joe mythology in future installments. If you want a full, high-res shot, just click on the picture.

AWESOME Extended Speed Racer Trailer!

Wow! Any skepticism I had about this movie before just flew out the window and splattered on the pavement. I am totally going to go see this in IMAX. Check out the trailer below to determine if we might run into each other on May 9th. Enjoy!

Steven Spielberg's Live-Action Ghost in the Shell

Word hit the airwaves today that Steven Spielberg and his company, Dreamworks, have acquired the rights to produce a live-action version of Masamune Shirow's Ghost in the Shell. The film is set to be filmed in 3-D, which seems to be the next big thing for big budget Hollywood blockbusters. Avi Arad, former Marvel executive and producer of the X-Men and Spider-Man films, is set to co-produce the adaptation with Steven Paul ( I dunno who he is either...). Street Kings' Jamie Moss will be writing the script. No word yet on who will direct the feature or when it is set to be released in theaters. Man, we got the Wachowskis doing Speed Racer, James Cameron is doing Battle Angel, and CGI versions of Gatchaman and Astro Boy are coming up from Imagi Studios. This is a great time for anime and anime fans indeed.

Metal Gear Headset!?

I neglected to post this earlier, since it was originally just a silly rumor. But, apparently this charming little MGS4-themed headset is actually real and set for release on June 12th, the same day Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots is set to be released. If you're like myself and have yet to purchase a headset for your PS3, I'd suggest this one. I'm not educated enough on the whole Bluetooth situation yet, but apparently this little device is compatible with all Bluetooth-supported cell phones. For the gamers out there, it has a 30 ft. range and allows up to 8 hours of rechargeable talk time. I'll probably be picking one up myself, since I have associates pestering me to get involved with the phenomenon that is Skype. It's set to run you at $60 plus tax.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm

My apologies for not posting this earlier guys. Apparently the guys over at Bandai Namco and CyberConnect2 are planning on bringing us the 6th installment to their Narutimate Hero series of video games based on the highly-popular Naruto franchise. The battles will apparently play out in a more cinematic fashion than in the past. Gameplay is no longer restricted to a 2D playing field and the stages will each have multiple levels or areas which you can fight in with varied interactivity depending on the surroundings. The game's storyline will cover the first half of the series before the Shippuuden arc, which means it will likely end with the climatic Naruto vs. Sasuke fight at the Valley of the End. The following are actual in-game shots:

And here is the latest US trailer for the game with the Jump Festa 2007 debut trailer from Japan below:

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm is set to be released exclusively for the PS3 sometime later this year.
