Show Uwe Some Love!

I've only seen a couple of Uwe Boll's movies, including BloodRayne and House of the Dead. While those movies certainly weren't Academy Award-winning material, they were cheesy-fun entertainment. I think most people take Uwe's movies way too seriously, which is why he has so many haters out there. Dude, even Uwe doesn't take his movies seriously. It seems like everybody nowadays is forgetting that going to the movies is all about having fun with audio-visual entertainment that will keep you involved in the story that's being told. And remember, he's not exactly getting strong material to work with, since a majority of his movies are based on interactive entertainment. He says that all his internet threats, raves, and rants on the internet are merely used as a type of neo-marketing to get you to go see his movies out of curiosity for what all the fuss is about. Below is a recent interview with Uwe Boll and the guys and gals over at LoadingReadyRun.com. I think you might be a little surprised at just how intelligent the guy really is. Enjoy!

Terminator Salvation Concept Art

In collaboration with it's beginning of principal photography, the official site for Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins opened up with its first post from director McG and the film's first official piece of concept art. McG had a few things to say about the plot, his praise for his talented cast, and his admiration of the franchise of which he himself is a fan of. For more information, you can visit the official website for the movie at:

James Marsters' Piccolo Revealed?

Hmm... an anonymous poster put up this image not too long ago today. I wonder if this could in fact be James Marsters as Piccolo. The costume is certainly similar to a previous image where we were shown the Piccolo costume with the face still covered. What do you think?

Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li's Chun Li

Today Capcom of Japan released the first official photo of Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li. I'm guessing that this particular scene takes place while she's either still in her village or out on a mission. This looks fairly promising either way.

More Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom Screenshots!

The official website for Japan's number one gaming publication, Famitsu, was able to reveal to the world a large number of screens from Capcom's upcoming Tatsunoko Vs Capcom today. I don't want to post all 20+ screens, but I'll show you some of the cooler ones and let you check out the rest for yourself though the a link to the website where the screenshots are being hosted. If you're still itching for more, then check out an even greater amount at:

Enjoy!

Hi-Res Shots of the Dragon Ball Cast

From the latest issue of one of Japan's many weekly publications, V-Jump, we're treated to the first shots of Chow Yun-Fat as Master Roshi and Joon Park as Yamcha. Apparently, Roshi has the Nyoibo in his possession. We also get a better look at Emmy and Jamie as Bulma and Chi Chi. I'm not quite so sure Jamie is in costume though. I guess we'll find out soon enough, won't we? Just click on the images for a better view. Enjoy!

Captain America to Keep it Old-School

Today it was reported that the upcoming Captain America flick will be a period piece set in the 1940s during the World War II era. Marvel Studio's President of Production, Kevin Feige, confirmed this himself and stated that they wanted to keep to the traditional roots of the character and source material. And as far as that rumor goes about Matthew McConaughey being offered the role of Cap; that is completely false. One again, look for The First Avenger: Captain America to be released on May 6th, 2011.

Live-Action Tekken Movie's Marshall Law

Looks like the Tekken film is trying to slip in under the radar on us. But, apparently it's still set for a 2009 release. Filming has been underway since February under the direction of Dwight H. Little. Most of you probably haven't heard of him, but Dwight has experience in decent action movies and he worked with a younger Steven Seagal back in the day, particularly on their film "Marked for Death". So, for the Tekken fans out there, here is the first image of the film's Marshall Law in costume, played by Cung Le. Enjoy!

OMG! A New Capcom Vs. Game!!

This is some of the first truly great gaming news I've heard in a while. Capcom has just officially announced this morning the next installment in their Capcom Vs. series; Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom: Cross Generation of Heroes. For those out there who aren't anime fans, the guys and gals over at Tatsunoko have aided in the production of anime such as Gatchaman (Battle of the Planets & G-Force), Mach Go Go Go aka Speed Racer, Super Dimensional Fortress Macross aka Robotech, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. Granted that only a single magazine scan has been released, I'm already really excited about this. The only confirmed characters according to the screenshots appear to be Ryu and Chun-Li of Street Fighter fame on the Capcom side, with Gatchaman and Casshern on the Tatsunoko side. As far as gameplay goes, all we know is that it will return to the 2-on-2 tag team formula and fighting will be restricted to a 2D playing field.

Dragon Ball DS

That latest issue of Japanese video game publication, V-Jump, included a 2-page article for Bandai Namco's latest addition the their series of video games involving the world of Akira Toriyama's most popular work, Dragon Ball. Titled Dragon Ball DS, the game will be in full 3D, feature real-time 3D animated cutscenes and use the DS' touch screen to control Goku's attacks involving hand-to-hand martial arts combat, his Nyoibo/Power Pole and ki projectiles. The story will begin at the start of Goku's adventures, from when he first meets and teams up with Bulma to search for the legendary Dragon Balls. The controls appear to be based on those used in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. In the meantime, enjoy the scans from the latest issue of V-Jump.

City of Ember

I haven't read the novel this film is based off of, nor do I know anything of the source material. All I know is that this looks awesome and seems like it will be a great adventure. Check out the trailer below.

Shia To Be the NEXT Indy Star?

In a brief interview with Fox News at the recent Cannes Film Festival in Venice, Italy, producer and director George Lucas made a comment regarding where he'd like to take the Indiana Jones franchise in the future. Apparently, George has an idea for Shia LeBouf, Harrison Ford's co-star in "Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" and the star of 2007's blockbuster-hit "Transformers", to take over the franchise as the main character. However, Harrison won't be left out of the picture as he would come back ala Sean Connery-style as the older, wiser mentor.

Official Color Images of Goku and Bulma

Today is just one of those Dragon Ball-themed days for me, since I just played the demo for DBZ: Burst Limit on Xbox Live and watched some Season 1 on DVD. Now, I find the previous images form Shonen Jump in full color, with an extra one to add. As always, click on the images for a closer view. I love how they did Goku's hair! Enjoy!

Guitar Hero 4 Drums Unveiled

The latest issue of Game Informer has unveiled the drum kit to used in Guitar Hero 4. Hmmm... I like the look of them; the only thing unsatisfactory is that they're not compatible with Rock Band nor are Rock Band's drums compatible with Guitar Hero 4.

UPDATE: The game's official name is now Guitar Hero: World Tour. The drum set will be both wireless and analog. Depending on how hard or soft you hit the drums will register different notes. Professionals drummers such as Blink 182's Travis Barton, The Police's Stewart Copeland, and Red Hot Chili Pepper's Chad Smith have play-tested tested the drums to ensure their durability. Check out how it all went down below. Enjoy!

Revealing Resident Evil 5 Famitsu Scans

Man, Famitsu is just full of good info. I wish I could subscribe here in the US. Anyways, along with the plethora of other news unveiled in the gaming publication's latest issue, there were some new screens and a few titilizing tidbits regarding Resident Evil/Biohazard 5. Check out the scans below and ask yourself "Who are the two females?" They look oddly familiar don't you think. I think the older chick is Jill. Tight blue top (Jill's trademark) says it all, but she has a few things on her outfit that kind of hint towards Native American culture, so it could be an older, sexier Claire. Either way, it's cool to see one of the old heroines from the PSX days back in the game. I also have a feeling that the young blonde girl is Sherry Birkin. Enjoy!
UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Resident Evil 5 will feature online co-op and a brand-new cover system. The second playable character will be the new adult female recently unveiled in the pictures above. Gears of War borrowed from Resident Evil 4, now Resident Evil 5 is borrowing from Gears of War.

Former Capcom Employees Come Out Swinging

Weekly Famitsu revealed that Platinum Games, a game development studio made up of staff from the now defunct Clover Studios, have announced a 3-game publishing deal with Sega. The first game is called "Bayonetta", directed by Hideki Kamiya, creator of the Devil May Cry series. This one is set to drop for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The protagonist is a female that just might rival Dante in coolness as she has guns attached to her high-heels and is a witch. One thing noticeable in the screenshots is that instead of fighting demons, she appears to be fighting angels. Awesome! The second game revealed is "Line Infinity", an RPG slated for the DS with an epic sci-fi/space opera storyline. And the third and final game revealed was "Mad World" for the Nintendo Wii, directed by Shigenori Nishikawa, one of the main game designers who worked on all the versions of Resident Evil 4. The game's art style will be similar to that of a black & white manga or Frank Miller's Sin City, with the use of blood being highly stylized. All three titles are slated to drop sometime next year. Enjoy the images from the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu below. Click to enlarge.

Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia

The first of many greats things unveiled in the latest issue of Japan's number one gaming publication, Weekly Famitsu, was the latest installment in the Castlevania series. Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia will be released exclusively for the Nintendo DS and feature a new female heroine as its protagonist. There is also word that co-op will return, but the character whom the second player will take control of has yet to be revealed. You can view the magazine scans from Famitsu below.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts Gameplay Revealed

I had the original Banjo-Kazooie for my N64 and back then I wasn't very impressed. Yeah, the world was huge, but after playing Ocarina of Time, it was kind of hard for me to be "wowed" by anything. I'm hoping that this one will give me a better outlook on a series I respect, but have yet to enjoy. Please, enjoy the video.

Guitar Hero IV Features

Since the rise of Rock Band, it's obvious that the Guitar Hero series has found some serious competition. So, it's time to kick it up a notch in order to continue surviving on the market. Guitar Hero IV will feature a create-a-song mode, minus being able to record vocals (bad move). However, you will be able to play vocals for the already included songs. You can name your songs and allow others online to play them through a new sharing and uploading system. While the player will be limited to uploading only 5 songs at first, after receiving high enough ratings, you'll be able to upload more. In addition to these features, you'll also be able to create your own rocker and his accessories, including their guitar and drum kit. Four big-time bands expected to appear in the game include: Sublime, The Eagles, Linkin Park and Van Halen. Guitar Hero IV is set to be released on PS3, Xbox 360, PS2, and Wii later this year. I'd expect a holiday release.

Teaser Poster for Prince of Persia Movie

Yesterday, the official teaser poster for the upcoming live-action adaptation of "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time" was released onto the net. After a bit of research, I was able to confirm that the poster was in fact: the real deal. As a little bonus, I've included a few concept art images for the film that were released months ago. Enjoy!
