Fresh Prince of Persia: Prodigy Scans!

Fresh from French gaming publication, Joystick, are more scans and info (in French) for the next installment in Ubisoft's Prince of Persia franchise. The story is loosely based upon a Zoroastrian tale about twin gods; one good, one evil. The brothers fight, one wins and imprisons the other in a box and cast him into an oasis. The defeated brother is found and freed by a thief centuries later and proceeds to reform all his brother's good doings as his own. The thief must then stop all of the evil god's mischief and terror. Sounds interesting. The game will be quite more non-linear and consists of many boss fights, which are the key to restoring the land back to its original state. Ubisoft has stated that they want boss fights as recognizable and memorable as the ones in Metal Gear Solid. There will also be a much greater emphasis on one-on-one combat aided by a new dynamic camera system as opposed to the multiple enemies in the Sands of Time trilogy. To help with the overall flow of the game, the Prince/Thief will have a greater sense of movement aided by his clawed gauntlet and acrobatic skills that will far surpass what we've seen in both Assassin's Creed and the Sands of Time installments. Speaking of which, the sands of time mechanic has been scrapped in favor of something new that has yet to be unveiled. Apparently one of the features will be similar, but other than that it will be completely fresh. Dudes, I am psyched! This might go on my must-have list for the year once I see some footage of what they're describing. I just hope it and the upcoming movie do Jordan Mechner proud. In the meantime, enjoy the scans. Just click on them to enlarge. Enjoy!

Cool screenies! I like the look of the game and can't wait to see it in action. I only hope they don't try and make such a big deal out of his clawed gauntlet, like the developers did with Dark Sector's glaive weapon. Big whoop. I hate when they try and put the entire focus on one aspect that they think is innovative and cool. It almost always turns out to be a gimmick when we gamers get ahold of it, only because that particular feature was hyped up so much. Yes I am a critic.

Subtlety = win.
